Incorrect channel-to-guide matching

Post by Seanslife » Mon Mar 10, 2008 08:32

Hello all
I think I have done something silly since moving down to Canberra because the IceGuide downloads 'ABC2' but displays that info on Channel '22 ABC TV' when in actual fact ABC2 is on channel 21. Have I done something silly? The obvious issue here is that selecting to watch or record a program from the ABC2 guide actually switches the tuner to channel 22 ABC TV. I have the correct ABC TV guide displayed on channel '2 ABC TV Canberra'. I can't see a menu option to map guide data to channels.

My ABCs are currently downloading as follows:
Guide..................Channel
ABC1..................'2 ABC TV Canberra'
ABC HD..............'20 ABC HDTV'
Blank..................'21 ABC2' (there is no epg data but this channel is actually ABC2)
ABC2.................'22 ABC TV' ...(this channel seems to be a mirror of Channel 2)

How do I correctly match the guide to a channel?

You may need to rescan the ABC frequency, as ABC has done a shift (they did notify everyone for some time to do this).
ABC1 is meant to be on 2 and 21, ABC2 is meant to be on 22.

And the IceTV guide for ABC1 is only associated with LCN 2, not 21.

Actually the ABC1 guide data should be applied to both LCN's 2 and 21.

Oh. When I asked about exactly this on the IceTV forum, I took your answer to mean that there was no IceTV EPG on LCN 21.

In any case, the IceTV EPG data I get for Canberra on my DP-S1 has (just rechecked) IceTV EPG data on LCN 2 and no IceTV EPG data on LCN 21.

This was a recent change (and definitely after the post I made on our forums, and I have now updated as well :D ), if you clear the iceguide disk cache it will get the new channel list which has the updated LCN Information.

OK, I cleared the cache and I see the IceTV EPG on LCN21 now as well as on LCN2. Thanks.

This is what slows down the uptake of digital TV in Australia. Too much fooking around.

I have a new T4 (replacement of my faulty 1st T4) and I have a different channel match problem.
After scanning channels, when I press button 2 on the remote, instead of opening ABC channel 2 it goes to SBS which in the past has always been channel 3.
how can I correct this?

You probably have the wrong bouquet set as your default.

You need to open the channel list using FAV, then press BLUE to list the bouquets. Select "Terrestrial TV LCN" as your bouquet, then zap to any channel in that bouquet.

That will set the Terrestrial TV LCn bouquet as your default, and all the channel numbering should line up with the LCN numbers (ABC on 2, Seven on 7 etc....)

By default, bouquets are just numbered from 1 to <x>. The Terrestrial TV LCN bouquet is a special one that gets numbered according to the LCN (logical channel number). The bouquet that you currently have as your default, is probably set as "Last scanned" at the moment, and the numbering will be somewhat random.

After I've done a full channel search, all the channels are already entered in my Terrestrial TVLCN folder so I don't understand "zap channels in that bouqute" and in it, the channel 2 is ABC.
However, despite following your instructions, when I'm watching TV & change channels, e.g. press "2" on the remote to go to the ABC, I still get SBS 3

Also, after I've used FAV, pressed blue & selected Terrestrial TVLCN & clicked OK, when I again press FAV, it opens "Last scanned" & not Terrestrial TVLCN

Press FAV, select Terrestrial TV LCN, click OK, then select any service (like ABC), then press OK again.

This will zap to ABC, and make the Terrestrial TV LCN bouquet the default bouquet.

(zap means "Change channels" in Beyonwiz parlance)
