I can’t record more than one channel

Post by Fly » Sat Dec 29, 2018 15:43

Hi, recently I haven’t been able to record mor than one channel at a time - and I can’t watch another channel... e.g. if I’m recording ch7 there’s no signal to ch9 or the others.
I’ve done a factory reset and it’s up to date. (U4) What setting would I need to change?
Thanks

My first reaction is to suspect there is no signal on the rf out being fed to the second tuner input.

Have you changed the aerial connections recently? Make sure they are correct as per the installation guide and ensure the loop cables are properly seated.

It may be the loop wire from tuner-A-out to tuner-B-in is defective but if so, I'd expect to be able to record two networks if tuner A is alive.

Also, go to MENU>SETUP>TUNERS >TUNER CONFIGURATION. It should list 4 tuners of type T-2 enabled.

It is possible to set these to "nothing connected" but this is not normal. It's the only setting I can think of that might be causing your problem.

You may need to be more explicit with the nomenclature. The back panel list labels the tuners as Tuner1 and Tuner2. Tuner1 is a dual-tuner device that contains Tuners A & B as listed in the firmware. Tuner2 is also a dual-tuner device, but only one of the tuners is used, and it is labelled Tuner C in the firmware. The USB tuner is labelled Tuner D.

As you note, because Tuner1 is a dual tuner, it seems unlikely that this is a problem with the feedthrough cable from Tuner1 to Tuner2. It's hard to work out which component may have failed (or may not be receiving signal) without knowing how the tuner inputs are connected and whether a USB tuner is being used.

When all 4 tuners are available, MENU>Information>Devices should list Tuners A, B & C as Si21682 (DVB-T2), and Tuner D may have different naming depending on which device you have used as the USB tuner. For my Beyonwiz-supplied USB tuner (ITE 9135(9006)), Tuner D is listed as DVB-TV Stick (DVB-T).
