No EPG on West TV

Post by MrQuade » Sun Mar 18, 2018 17:46

I am assuming that West TV hasn't been broadcasting an EPG for anyone in Perth for some time now? Not seeing any data on the Wiz or from my TV's own tuner, though don't know how long this has been going on for exactly.

Was there some announcement that the EPG was being discontinued or anything? They don't even seen to have now/next info.

The FTA EPG on my U4 previously only ever had a day or two populated that I noticed. Now I see it only has now/next as "Alfred Hitchcock presents" from 23:30 last night with no next.
The ourguide.com.au guide has a weird entry for that program -
Alfred Hitchcock Presents
Saturday 17th March at 11:30 pm (-1050 minutes)
(whereas tonight's listing is more normal - Alfred Hitchcock Presents, Sunday 18th March at 11:30 pm (30 minutes))

Perhaps 'Kangaroo Edward' data preventing EPG transmission?

Hi,

Ring the broadcaster and alert them to the issue. They may not be aware of the problem.

Regards,
Ian.

Hello Perth residents,

I am not in Perth presently, and my last contact with WTV was back in 2014.
Then the EPG update was a common theme in my correspondence with them.

There was only one person maintaining it, and it would be updated on a weekly basis.
So by the end of the 7 day period you would see a very limited amount of information.

http://wtvperth.com.au/contact-us/

will show you a phone number (Mon-Fri, 9h00 onward by memory, as they were all volunteers in those days)
to make a quick enquiry on the current state of affairs.

Lately, they seem to have only been sending about 48 hours with of data, and ther are frequent gaps even then. I've just never seen it vanish completely for so long like this.

It's community TV, it *really* doesn't matter enough to kick up a fuss ;)

Looks like WestTV Perth has forgotten how the EPG works again.

If you ever get to watch West TV have you ever encountered any programs at all that have subtitles? I haven't so my wife won't even consider watching.
Thanks In advance

I don't typically enable subtitles, so wouldn't have been in a position to notice.
That, and my use of community TV is generally limited to the odd Z-grade or cult movie screening :).
