Best to clear?

Post by Foxtail » Wed Oct 17, 2007 10:01

I have had problems gettng a full week of ICETV programs on all channels, sometimes it misses out on a day or part of with some. Was wondering if its best to clear the ICETV cache first before downloading?.

I think when you clear the disk cache, the bwiz then automatically updates the guide. If anyone can confirm.

And an important note. I believe that the guide info is updated once a day in the mid afternoon so if you are going to clear the cache some time after 3 PM may be the best to recieve up to date info.
The wise learn from the mistakes of others.

I was having spotty data with gaps last night so I cleared the cache and within a moment everything filled up except for the 'shopping channel' :P

I did a cache clear recently, and yes, it did re-fetch the data (though I think I did Disable IceTV--Clear cache--Enable IceTV).

The IceTV FAQ says:
When is the best time to update the IceTV Guide on any particular day?
As many late schedule changes and daily additions are carried out in the morning, it is best to update the IceTV Guide any time after 1:00 pm. That way you will have received the majority of the latest changes made that day.

Funny thing, I cleared the cache and updated ICETV around 1pm today, I got 3 channels up to 22nd Oct and the others 2 days earlier, weird.
