There's a topic over in the IceTV forum from a subscriber who also didn't get the email about this.

Anyway, I'm not to blame for you missing out ;); I didn't buy one, because I'm subscribed out to June 2015.

Just getting it now but I noticed they have changed the auto-renew option. If I read it correctly, if you select ir now it will renew at $49 when it comes due.

Saves a bit of messing around until a better offer shows up.
Cheers

I think the autorenew offer was that if there was a $49 special available at the time your subscription expired then you'd automatically get the $49 rather than the normal $69 discounted price for autorenew. That's how I've always read it when I saw it.

In MyAccount>PaymentDetails, it says:
Renew as:
1 month membership for $11 (normally $13) and save $24 a year.
3 month membership for $27 (normally $33) and save $24 a year.
12 month membership for $69 (normally $99) and save around 30%.
I didn't get a discounted subs this time (I'm already paid up out to 2015), so I didn't see what the current wording was on the $49 offer. I simply keep paid up far enough in advance that I've got plenty of time available to do a $49 topup when I feel a need to. Of seven annual subscriptions I've bought, I've only paid full price on one. Five cost me $49 and one was $44.

Hi Peter

You might be correct as my account says the same but on the renewal it said $69 or less or words to that effect so it left me wondering.

Regardless my approach is similar to yours (I skipped the last offer or two and took this one) as I am paid up to Jan 2015 with past renewals ranging from $39 - $74.25 for my 8 subs.
Cheers

This started about 1 day after I renewed for $99. :x

A word of warning to Ice users - my account recently expired (may have missed some emails about it). In the past, it was obvious when this happened because a few days later you would discover your EPG data was terminating early. But this time, the EPG data kept on coming down, the only indication was that my Ice series timers stopped being created. I probably missed a few before I discovered this.

That's why I try to keep my subscription paid up a good way in advance.

Though during the Nine vs IceTV copyright suit I did wonder whether that was some $100 or so that I'd never see again :)

Ah, but that's the other catch - pay up too far in advance like I did, and then time flies while you keep thinking you must have about a year still to run..... :P

Usually till they have 500 or something similar.
