Suddenly Daylight Savings is Back!
My DP-P1 is on Auto - Region:Tas.
As expected Sunday - the time display rolled back an hour to the new correct time. So far, so good. Also, the EPG times were correct.
Now, Wednesday, the DP-P1 time display is suddenly an hour ahead AND the EPG times are all shown as an hour later than the actual times!
What's with this?
Oh, and how about a simple step-by-step way to resolve? - I've put the DP-P1 back to Manual and set the clock back to the correct time. I tried to reload the EPG but it still shows everything starting an hour late. Arrgh. I have now cleared the Ice cache to force it to reload the EPG - but now it says - too many EPG requests, so no joy...
This 'every six month' wrestling with daylight savings is getting old.

How could your clock magically fix itself? The Wiz doesn't auto-adjust for DST, you have to disable the DST option to adjust your Wiz back the hour. If you noticed your clock was good on Sunday and you didn't touch a thing, sounds like the work experience kid stuffed with the wrong tables at whatever broadcaster you were watching, as the standard timestamp that STBs get the time from is GMT and never should be adjusted for DST.
There is another table, the TOT=time offset table, which has the DST transitions and such in it, but the Wiz doesn't use that table unfortunately (mind you, most broadcasters bugger it up and you read dozens of posts on dtvforums about STBs that don't give you a choice and force using the TOT & TDT=time&date table and the clock ends up all over the place because one broadcaster has no idea).
So what you need to do is ensure your offset is 10hours. Once you do this, go to your ICE account pages and do a "resend all timers for device X" and it will adjust all your ICE Interactive timers properly. If one of your broadcasters has it all wrong, you are going to have to be on manual time and make sure your offset is 10hours and you don't have the DST option enabled (which simply adds an hour when it is enabled).

Thanks,
Apologies for the inadvertent double-post - a Chrome 'form repost' gotcha.
Turns out the simple answer is as advised - simply disable DST and wait for the next EPG reload...perhaps you need also to go the Initialise page and clear the IceTV cache, as well...even to get the EPG to update.
This forum is great help but the problem is that there's a ton (tonne?) of important reference information buried deeply in the threads - maybe someday we'll get a proper manual...
As far as QLD goes, it reminds me of the way the states all built their railways using different track gauges - and SA's 1/2 hr differrential is completely off-the-wall - so why can't all UCT-dependent systems share a single reference to support automatic updates?
Bloody-mindedness? Parochialism? We could let the Commonwealth rule, but then we'd end-up like China where folks in the West have to live on Beijing time!

Wouldn't mean much change for you in the West as you are already on Beijing time.gondwannabe wrote:Bloody-mindedness? Parochialism? We could let the Commonwealth rule, but then we'd end-up like China where folks in the West have to live on Beijing time!
