ABC and SBS EPG data missing

Post by smeg888 » Wed Aug 01, 2007 11:07

I've noticed a few times over the last couple of weeks that when I go in to the EPG list the data for SBS, and sometimes the ABC, is missing. If I release the EPG cache and wait a whille it then loads.

Anyone else seen this??

regards

SBS epg issue

Post by sctsprin » Wed Aug 01, 2007 14:22

Hi smeg,

Yes i've found the same thing in brisbane, sbs epg data often is only good for about 3 or 4 days of the week, you need to wait a couple of days then clear the icecache, and reload to fix it.

I have found the same thing. Hopefully the next update will fix it.

I've found that if you leave the Guide on-screen for about 30 seconds, it gradually fills in the missing data. I haven't needed to clear the cache yet.

same problem - no sbs or ABC

Post by smb » Sat Sep 22, 2007 16:03

I called IceTV to tell of the problem - they said the solution was to clear the cache, and whilst they didn't know what the cause was yet, they were hoping to fix it soon - it led me to believe it may be a problem on their end.

I find it very annoying.

It seems whenever I go to the guide there are bits missing. At the moment there are huge holes, with whole channels missing (10 HD, etc).

Personally I'm not very impressed with IceTV. I find the freebie guide I use for my Topfield 5000 is much more reliable.

Edit: Current problems might have something to do with the F/W upgrade. I'll check tomorrow to see if it's working OK.

Hi DCW,

Problems do seem to be with the upgrade.

See this post http://www.beyonwiz.com.au/phpbb2/viewt ... 9&start=15

Cheers

Phil

PS - I find ICE itsself is Great. Its just how it is implemented in the BW that needs a little work which they have mentioned they plan to do soon (ish).

I know it's probably been mentioned already, but HOW do you clear the cache?

(The kids have total control of the TV at the moment, so I can't play with daddy's new toy! :( )
Mission successful!

Hi Phil

Yes, it does seem to be the issue raised in the other thread, complete with the "Waiting 1200 mins..." message. I might try the work-around.

Muzz

You clear the cache by going to BW Setup/System/Initialise & you'll see the "Clear ICE Cache" option. Might be a good idea if this option was made available in the Network/Iceguide section which is where I'd expect to find it.

Dave.
