Anyone else having ABC ICE issues?

Post by SimonB » Mon Nov 05, 2007 22:47

Hi there,

Anyone else finding huge gaps in the ICETV data for ABC TV? Did a quick scan, but couldn't find any current reports, I know it's been an issue on and off, but hadn't seen it myself until tonight.

Yes. We all have, mentioned everytime a new ice thread comes up.
There is stalled talks going on between Korea and Ice to see if they can come up with something more reliable (I say stalled, because I read that Beyonwiz are looking to improve this area, but I don't hear such favourable posts from Daniel at IceTV, Wiz priorities would suggest that this is not #1 on Wiz's list at the moment).

Not true. We would love to fix the issue, at this stage though it is only affecting the Beyonwiz and we can't see an issue at our end.

We are currently waiting on more information from Steven at Beyonwiz, but he has advised that he will be getting the next firmware out first before sending us anything.

At this stage unfortunately our hands are tied.

I re-read my post and it didn't read right, I meant it didn't seem to be #1 with Wiz to sort out.

Thanks for the response Daniel. This is doing ICETV no good, as I am sure you're aware. I just hope that the next firmware sorts it.

I've had very good success with regards to ICETV over the last year or so, so I'm not about to dump your services, but I can see how frustrated new users must get.

At the moment, the only data I have for ABC TV or ABC HDTV is where I have a recording set. Most frustrating.

ABC TV was working now not. Most frustrating again. Wish BW would get their act together and fix, but I do wonder when it only seems to be the ABC data that's missing.

Issue or annoyance?

Around 11am Sunday 18th Nov. i sat down to program the next week's worth of timers, and found EPG only carried through to Wed Night. (4 days worth). This was after having Daniel, 'unblock' my account, the other week...

Do i need to switch BW into/outof Standby to trigger a EPG refresh, (as i tend to leave BW on 24x7) or it should refresh itself periodically? (what is that period?) Am i wrong to expect a minimum of 7 days EPG content at any time ?

Turned off IceTV and checked the transmitted data. All channels except 7 filled up the guide with about 3 days of full data and then getting a bit spotty. So the ABC problem is probably a BW issue?

its no ICE for ABC..

Post by ptannerford » Fri Dec 07, 2007 18:41

hi there..

am having the notorious no-ABC information on the IceTV subscription..this is annoying, as ABC is the channel most watched in our house..

for what its worth (fwiw) , what I do to re-load IceTV is the following..

1. select IceTV on set-up (obvious!)
2. clear the EPG cache
3. check user info (this seems to cause a reload of EPG data)..

sigh..

any updates on this problem being fixed?

reagrds,
p.tannerford

Actually the last action isn't required. Tthe BW will automatically refresh the data from IceTv's server.

reloading ICE

Post by ptannerford » Fri Dec 07, 2007 20:21

I've found that when I do the last step, of checking user info, I can watch the log on the bottom of the screen to see where, and how the update is progressing..

just a little more information.

regards,

The log updates without doing that, but only when it is active so you just need to see what the last actions were.
