Kayo Sports plugin

Post by MrQuade » Sat Jun 15, 2019 15:55

Check the instructions here to install the Kayo sports plugin under the Kodi plugin on the V2.

I posted some similar instructions for the IView and SBSNow services here if anyone gets stuck with the procedure. The process to install most 3rd party addons is very similar.

Note that you will also need to install the Inputstreamadaptive plugin for the Kayo plugin to function.

EDIT: The inputstream adaptive plugin link appears to be broken, so I have attached it to this post.

MrQuade, I have successfully installed Kodi and that works fine, albeit only version 17.6 Krypton. The Kayo Sports plugin is installed and Kayo is sort of ok! I can play anything on the Kayo catchup, but live view is a no go due to the "inputstreamadaptive" plugin not installing due to this version of Kodi as version 18 is the minimum requirement. The Kayo settings will not allow me to install the plugin. In your post you say that the "inputstreamadaptive" plugin will need to be installed. How is that possible with this version of Kodi?

The version that I linked installed when I tried that, but I don't have a Kayo subscription that I could actually test that with.

I also notice that the link I posted no longer works. I'd taken the advice that this plugin was required from WizHQ some time back, so I don't know what exactly has changed between then and now.

If I still have a copy of that file stored somewhere I will try to install it on my V2 and see what happens.

Get 3 months Kayo free while you still can.

That would be great if you still have it.
I am on the Telstra Rewards 3 month Kayo trial.
If Kayo liveview doesn't work without the plugin it is probably useless to me then.
I was hoping to dump Foxtel and use Kayo for Supercars.

Even if the plugin doesn't work on the V2, there are a number of devices that will allow you to watch Kayo. I have a Vodafone TV (VTV) and a Telstra TV 1, both work fine with Kayo. You can install Kodi on the VTV and use the excellent Matt Huisman add-on.

Where there's a will there's a way.

I'm using the Matt Huisman add-on on the V2 for Kayo.
I've never looked at Telstra TV, I wasn't aware you can buy it outright.
May be a better option than Kayo on the V2!

Telstra TV 2 (TV 1 no longer made and is old and clunky) - $216
Vodafone TV - $72. Price wise, it's a no brainer.

Do you have a Chromecast? You can cast Kayo from Chrome or the Kayo app - you don't need Kodi.

I have attached the file to the first post in the thread.
Hopefully that will install correctly (had to remote into my V2 from my phone to retrieve that zip file).
