Beyonwiz V2 network issues

Post by gilbertsinbrisbane » Fri Oct 09, 2020 17:44

I can't seem to get my V2 to connect to my network. It sees that there's an ethernet or wireless connection, but it cannot seem to manage to obtain an IP address from either of them (although my Foxtel box, my smart TV, my media player and my now defunct Humax PVR have/had no problems getting an IP address from the same access point or wifi network (tried both wired and wireless options). Is there a trick I'm not aware of? I've tried the network wizard several times, but no joy.

There is no trick, particularly so on wired Ethernet.

Do you intend to use the V2 wired or wireless in the long run?

In either case, best to get wired going first as it is the easiest to set up.

If your home network reasonably simple? Just a Wireless Router connecting to the Internet and maybe an Ethernet switch or two to reticulate cable around the house?

Make sure that V2's Ethernet is the selected interface, and the Ethernet cable is plugged in. You might want to try a different cable if one is available.

Then just make sure the options are set to DHCP and auto.
Give the V2 a reboot just to make sure it is being given a fresh start.

The V2 *should* simply get an address from your Router.
