Hi
I have a v2 with the latest firmware. I recently bought a usb hub from Beyonwiz. I plugged the hub into the usb 3 port and then plug the external hard drive into the hub. When I restart the v2 it just displays Boot on the unit. No problems booting when the v2 is plugged directly into the v2.
I thought this would work. What have I missed here?
V2 and hard drive connected to usb hub
Re: V2 and hard drive connected to usb hub
It sounds like the V2 might have detected some strange features on the hub that the early boot process doesn't know how to handle.
Is the hub powered separately? If not, maybe the combination of hub power plus HDD power has exceeded the USB3 port's power delivery ability.
I assume nothing else is plugged into the hub? Anything in the USB2 port?
What happens if you boot up with the HDD connected to the hub, but without the hub plugged in? Does the V2 find the harddisk then?
Have you tried the hub and/or harddisk plugged into your PC.
There have been cases with some previous Beyonwiz-supplied accessories not working properly with the V2. This sometimes happens if the manufacturer change the product in some way without telling Beyonwiz, but sell the new product with the same model number as the previously working product.

Re: V2 and hard drive connected to usb hub
Is it a this hub?
Have you checked that it is in fact a USB3 hub? Are you using the external power supply (shown in the Beyonwiz Shop page) for the hub?
Is anything else connected through the hub?
Can the V2 "see" any other devices (like, say, a USB thumb drive) connected to the hub?
Have you tried all ports on the hub?
