Re: you tube
Seems to be working here (much to my suprise).
I do have to ask though. Can you confirm that your V2 has a working internet connection?

Re: you tube
Yes, I can download plugins so presumably no problem there no problem there.
Re: you tube
Hmm, not really sure then.
It may be something to do with which Youtube datacentre you are being redirected to (assuming they have regional caches like Netflix etc...).
Or a temporary outage at your ISP or their backhaul (I do know that Vocus lost a major East/West cable for most of yesterday) that was delaying traffic.
Are you using the standard built-in Youtube plugin?
You could also try the Youtube plugin under the Kodi plugin (Plugin inception!!) if you wanted to experiment!

Re: you tube
Worked for me on a quick test, too.
AlanH, can you give precise steps that get you to "when I try to use You tube. I receive a message : Error in creating Lists. Please try another feed."
So for example: when I tested , I did:
MENU>YouTube
Selected Public feeds
Selected Top rated
Selected Trick-or-Treat (what happened to be the first entry in the list of videos)
Got error message: "There was error in extract video url: This video requires payment to watch"
Back in list of videos, selected #CareTalk @ HLTH 2019...
Video played

Hi Peter,
I pressed the blue button> selected Youtube>public feeds>(there were six of these)> error message
I tried youtube>Search> UK Murders> error message.
I couldn't get past this.
Many thanks for your assistance
Regards
alanh

Re: you tube
All the YouTube feeds under Public Feeds work for me.
Which firmware version are you using (MENU>Information>About>Revision)? I'm using 20200405 (beta).

Re: you tube
I rolled back my test V2 to the most recent official release (20191106), and I can replicate AlanH's problem exactly.
In BLUE>YouTube>Public feeds, all of the feeds giver the error message "There was an error in creating entry list! / Maybe try other feeds...."
AlanH, if you want YouTube to work, it looks like you have two choices, either to wait for the next public release or to move to the 20200405 beta firmware.

Re: you tube
You might as well go with the current beta. If there are any more releases in the 19.3 series, it's very likely that it is going to be the current beta being promoted to an official release.
The after-market CPU cooler has finally arrived for my brand new development system, which means that I will be starting on the next firmware series in a few days. The plan for the next Beyonwiz firmware release is to be in the 20.x series, sometime later this year.

Re: you tube
That's great info thanks.
It seems a plan to update the firmware.
Can you explain (Simply) how this is done please?

Re: you tube
Make sure you perform a settings backup from the main menu of the V2.
Grab the latest beta USB image.
viewtopic.php?f=56&t=14008
Unzip this to an empty USB stick.
Turn off the V2. Plug the USB stick in and unplug all other USB devices (just a precaution).
Start the V2 again but hold down the front power button until you see the "updt" message in the front panel.
Wait for the menu to appear and then select the firmware update option.
When the update is complete, shut down the V2. Plug your other USB devices back in (remove the thumbstick).
Restart the V2 and then restore your settings when prompted.

Re: you tube
As per MrQuade's steps, or see here -
viewtopic.php?f=67&t=13361&p=186514#p186513
After flashing with that 20200328 beta firmware as linked by MrQuade (don't use the link in 'step 1' from the above link), you'll need to "switch your feed to beta", see here -
viewtopic.php?f=56&t=9085
Then do an online update, which will get your V2 to the very latest 20200405 beta stage.
Re: you tube
Oh yes, good point. Very important Grumpy Geoff!
Definitely fon't update until you've switched to the beta feed. Some package "downgrades" were made in the beta, so updating from the regular feed could break things
