Control V2 & TV from a single remote

Post by sonycrt » Tue Mar 31, 2020 13:31

With the T4 you could program the remote to operate both T4 & TV. With the V2, I would like the same function and would prefer not to get a harmony remote unless i have to.

So my questions are;

1. Is the V2 remote able to also control a TV?
2. Is it possible to change the T4 remote so that it can control the V2?

Thanks

No, the V2 remote doesn't have the STB/TV buttons or modes.

No, the T4 remote doesn't support the 0xae97 code set that the V2 understands. The T4 remote only uses 0x02f2, 0x02f3, and 0x02f4.

The U4 remote could be used as it has a STB/TV mode and supports the 0xae97 and 0x02f3 code sets, but these are no longer sold new :(.

Most people find the cleanest route to "one remote to rule them all" is to use a third-party activity-based (or similar) remote like the Logitech Harmony remotes.

Harmony has the remote codes for all models in their remote configurations database.

I've used a Harmony 785 remote (sadly no longer made) for more than 10 years to control the whole of our A/V setup (which isn't all that complicated, see my signature block).

MrQuade/prl ... OK thanks ... I actually have two remotes for the now deceased T4. Oh well looks like a harmony is required. Regards

The V2 may one day support the tenor codes that the T and U series does, bit at the moment, those drivers are locked away from the Wiz developers.
