Copying Files from Topfield to V2?

Post by paulg » Sat Dec 21, 2019 10:33

Hi, I have a lot of recording on my 2400 I want to copy to my V2. I can connect to both via FTP using filezilla. Does anyone have any suggestions on how I might transfer them without copying them onto a PC and then from the PC to the V2.

Thanks, Paul.

Perhaps either of these running from the command line on one of them?

/usr/bin/sftp

rsync

FileZilla doesn't have the capability to do remote-to-remote copies, even though this is supported by the FTP protocol and can be done using some command-line FTP clients. It involves the ftp client's proxy command, and I've never used it.

From poking around on the Web, it appears that the Windows ftp.exe doesn't support the proxy command, but the Win SCP client does.

I'd do remote-to-remote transfers using scp myself, which allows you to do scp remote1:file remote2:file transfers, but I use a Unixoid system, so I already have ssh/scp installed on my computer.

An alternative that would allow you to just use FileZilla would be to mount the Beyonwiz's disk as a share on your PC, and set FileZilla's destination to be on the share.
