Deleting unwanted channels?

Post by paulg » Sat Dec 21, 2019 10:28

Hi, after many years with a Topfield I have got a V2. Bit of a learning curve! Is there a way to delete unwanted channels? EG Racing.com

Thanks, Paul.

Short answer is don't.

You need to create a favourites group with the services/channels you want to use.

Don't delete as this can stuff up the terrestrial scan list - easier to setup Favourites with the channels you want so that that is what is selected at start up. Read the 1st post in the thread below that explains how to setup and use Favourites

I don't think that is correct any longer. However, if you want to delete things from Terrestrial TV LCN, you need to insert a new padding entry for each deleted channel if you want to keep the LCN-like numbering in that bouquet. It's simplest to do this through Open Webif.

However, I'd still recommend setting up a Favourites list because any changes you make to Terrestrial TV LCN will be overwritten next time you do a service scan.

Open Webif (Web interface to the current Beyonwiz series) is probably the easiest way to set up Favourites lists.

Just point your PC's browser at http://beyonwizv2/ and click on BouquetEditor in the sidebar. A bouquet is a collection of digital services, and includes things like user Favourites lists (of which you can have as many as you like :) ).

If that URL doesn't work, replace the "beyonwizv2" with the numerical IP address of your V2.
