Beyonwiz WizOS Apps Now Available on Google and Apple Stores

As the title suggests our official apps for the T-Series Beyonwiz PVRs are now available on both Google Play and the Apple App store, they are Free to download and will allow you to Stream - Control - Record when paired with your Beyonwiz T-Series PVR.

We will be making the official announcement soon along with some demo videos and how to guides, but just wanted to take this time to thank the forum members who helped out with the pre-release testing

Like our PVR software we will continue to support and develop our apps so any features requests and/or bugs can be posted in this forum.

Just search Beyonwiz or WizOS when it the apps stores, Enjoy

My android app works to view certain channels but some dont work.
My IOS app does not work. It givesme a connection error.

Android app on a Samsung S6 Edge, every channel, TV guide, recordings, timers, remote, all worked perfectly

I have a few issues with it.

1. the embedded player performance is poor, so I use MX player (settings > global options > default player)
2. but then it still opens the embedded player with the blue beyonwiz screen, have to press the back button to close that and the video starts playing in MX player (only for recordings; live TV streaming goes straight to MX)
3. Sub-directories not in the locations list are not visible. So if using my "series2folder" plugin you can't play any series.

However I do like the recordings display for those I can see, other alternatives like DLNA player just give you the filenames.

Works for me, had a quick play of live and recorded tv plus tested setting a timer. So far so good, didn't expect an app so definitely happy with the additional capability.

Noticed there's an option to tell the app how to find your Wiz remotely and enter a username and password. I haven't opened up my Wiz to the web as it has no security from what I can tell. Is it possible to set a username and password to allow remote access?

You'll find that playing back some recordings will result in a very glitchy playback bar, that means you can't skip to a preferred spot in the recording.

It looks like the same bug is present on Android and iOS. I understand that this issue is being worked on at the moment.

Forgot I came across that when playing back, tough to jump past an ad! Like that you can pause live tv but there's currently no way to then jump forward, can only just play again.

Hmm, not sure what is wrong - app loads and runs OK, I can see Wiz, set timers, view list of recordings but I cannot play live TV or a recording without problems. No sound and choppy video with lots of buffering.....

All recordings I've tried play fine for 20 to 30 seconds and then are unwatchable, just all scrambled and glitchy

Doubly so if your Beyonwiz is also connected wirelessly (either with a USB dongle or communicating via a separate wireless bridge).

Good app, heres a few suggestions

Make the TV LCN sticky so on restarting it uses the same (not sure what is called but is where you choose the Terrestial LCN, favourite etc).

For recordings, to be able to able to change the sorting of the list, sort by name etc

Could the guide show programs which will be recorded

The real question is how good is the wireless connection between your router and your mobile device. Can it sustain 1-2MBytes/s and never drop the speed below that figure? If not, then you can expect breakups.

We had this issue early on in the Beta. One thing that you can try for me is to download a 3rd party player, VLC I would recommend. Now go into Setting and Global options of the WizOS app and change the default player to VLC. Try and stream recordings now and let me know how it goes.

VLC played fine, even at 4x with audio and jumping ahead
Went back to embedded player and all worked fine including jumping ahead

Android App working OK for me. Tested from my Zenfone 5 Lollipop over Optus via VPN to my ASUS router. Didn't test streaming, that's not of interest to me on a mobile phone

I use Icetv for scheduling which has its own Android app and I'll keep using that.

One feature I would like is to list disk space remaining on the Recordings tab.

I'm going away for a few weeks and just want to make sure I can delete low priority recordings to enable future high priority ones. The Media listing on the Beyonwiz itself has this - disk size, amount used, amount free, amount in bin.

The requested info doesn't appear in the WebOS either, so that's another place where it might be easier to add it. Pressing "media" on the full remote does nothing.

I just installed Wizos on both my iPhone 4s and iPad Air. It runs TV perfectly on my iPhone but on my iPad it shows video only with no sound. Does anyone have any idea as to why and how I can get my iPad to give sound? Peter

great app very impressed..... Only a few things.... Ad skipping buttons would be cool please..... And sorting recordings by name not date option..... Real issue is that I have no problems on my iPad but my wife's iPad has no sound ?!?!?! live TV and recording playback fine just no sound ?!?!?! I don't understand..... Have deleted and reinstalled but still to no avail ?!? Any assistance greatly appreciated

Silly question but can you get sound from other apps? Volume level down or mute switch on?

Yes, my iPad has volume on and will play music normally but when I run Wizos > TV, I can see the video but no sound at all. I just installed VLC for iPad but no change, it can't be my Wifi network as my iPhone runs it perfectly,

Same here. No sound in any live or recorded show via wizos app yet.

Will investigate T4 transcoding settings later and post back if any success.

I do note that I don't have a global option to use vlc player but I do have vlc installed on my iPhone with wizos app.

(Using dedicated standalone wireless N waps, not router wifi).

For the No Audio issue if you could list the model of your iPad and also the current IOS software version that may help us narrow it down..

FWIW, I'm running the app on a Gen 1 iPad mini 2,7 iOS 8.4.1 and the live TV and recorded files stream with audio fine so far. My T4 is on ethernet too.

Sounds weird! My T3 is also ethernet connected and it works on my iPhone so It cannot be a wifi issue

Hey Wiz,

What version is the iOS app at?

Mine says v1.3 build 20

Yet in wizos/global all i have is 'Google analytics'. There's nothing here to change the default player.

There's also no 'wizos' icon under the iPhone's 'settings' main page where all the other apps have an icon.

Is this version/build current?

Is the app broken or not installing correctly?

Well no responses...

But it's fixed now. VLC player updated today (wasn't available before in AppStore updates screen).

Got home later and used the telly'mote app to stream a channel from T4 and it opened VLC (I don't usually stream from telly'mote) and it worked with audio. Then I thought I'd try wizos to stream and it opened video and played sound correctly (I could hear it finally).

I suspect it was either the VLC update to 2.6.5 or the fact I opened TV stream in telly'mote first then switched TV streaming app to wizos.

(The T3 is offline tonight so there's a super slim possibility it's simply 2 Tx DVR with some weird upnp service/announcement mixup that's not at play tonight but I doubt it).

Either way wizos now has sound. Hope this helps others to fix their sound issue.

I am unable to get the WizOS app to connect to my T3 on my Samsung Note 2, Samsung Galaxy Tab or iPad 2. In each case i get the message:

"Sorry - Cant connect to the box

This version of the app work only with Beyonwiz boxes."

The T3 is running 2015-08-31 07:31. The app version (on the Note 2) is Beyonwiz WizOS 1.6 SM-T530 (MSM8226 - samsung). Both devices are connected to the same wifi network.

Only unusual thing i can see is the automatic connection identifies the Wiz as "HD-3". Is this normal?

Good question. I couldn't (although I was able to access it via VU+ Player yesterday) so I rebooted router and Beyonwiz. Now I can access BW from tablet (192.168.1.100) and this takes me straight into OpenWebif. Thought that had fixed it but no, WizOS still reports " ... can't connect to the box ..."

This leads me to add that the network connection has always seemed very flakey. One day it's visible on the Windows network ... next day it's gone, but apparently still works because it can still access IceTV EPG, videos on the NAS etc. I'm really out of my depth here. Using android Network Mapper on my phone the BW shows up with ports 22(SSH), 21(FTP), 23(Telnet), 80(WWW), 139 (netbios), and 445(microsoft-ds) visible but I'm not sure if this is significant (out of depth etc).

Another observation, when using VU+ the BW connection seems to take a while to wake up. It always reports initially that it can't connect, but 2 - 3 seconds later it does and all is good.

How about making the APK file for Android OS available here for those of who don't login to the Google store?

Many of us update our software in other ways that don't result in Google tracking every download etc.

Would be a real time-saver!
