Android App - definitely gone?

Post by Doonks » Mon Apr 08, 2024 18:14

Can't see it on the Google Play Store at all. I have it on my Galaxy S22, and my Tab S9 (which is only a few months old).

Today I got a new Galaxy S24 Ultra, and did the data transfer fromt he S22. The Beyonwiz App did not transfer and now I can't seem to get it on my S24 at all.

Is it completely gone, never to return?
Is there any alternative?

The Wiz app is not returning to the store unfortuantely.

Try the Gigablue player.

Gigablue doesn't work on the newer versions of Android. OpenWebif might be an option depending on what you are wanting to do.

I predominantly used the app as a remote control for the V2, less so as a TV Guide.

I have WizOS on my phone (working well) and I'd like to install it on another phone - no longer available on playstore is obviously an issue!

I take it there isn't any way to package it & copy to the other phone? Are there any other app repositories that have it? Gigablue isn't an option (incompatible Android version).

I use it to set timers if I'm away from home (connecting via a VPN).

BTW, why has WizOS been removed from the playstore?

If you are connected to your home network with a VPN you can access Openwebif and set timers that way.
Just open a browser on your device and enter the device name or IP address. I access my V2 & T2 all the time at home and away.

Every now and then Google ask app developers to make changes to their app, recompile it for new processors or update the information displayed on Google Play. If a developer doesn't comply with that request (for example when an app is no longer being developed or supported), Google will delete the app from Google Play.
