WizOz Apple iPad Air 2
WizOz Apple iPad Air 2
I have at last managed to connect to one of my T4s. I have no idea how it happened.
The first problem is that it is identified by a generic name “Beyonwiz T4” I cannot change this to its individualised name. The VLC player recognises the unit’s correct name.
This means I have no idea which T4 it is seeing.
Second problem
If I can solve the first I will try to connect the second unit with a name that identifies it. vLC player see the correct name.
Thank you for helping me connect to two T4s to be able to see each other.

I think you have to shutdown and restart after changing the name. Have you tried that?

Where are you trying to change the name used by WIzOS? WizOS doesn't seem to use the name set in PLUGIN>OpenWebif>Custom box name (option shown when Show custom box name is enabled), nor the device's network name set in MENU>Setup>Network>Mount manager>Change hostname.
You need to change the name in WizOS itself:
- Identify which device WizOS is currently connected to (e.g. by looking at the recordings or timers list, or at the device's IP address).
- In WizOS, bring up the Choose STB/Settings/About menu. I only have the Android app, so I'm not certain how you do that on the iOS app.
- Select Settings.
- In the Settings menu, tap on the device WizOS is currently connected to. It has a tick mark in the Android app.
- Tap on Description, and then tap on the name in the description popup. Then edit the name to be whatever you want.
- That's now the name that the WizOS app will use for the device. No restart of anything is needed.
- Rinse, repeat for all other Beyonwiz devices. You should be able to identify the last device simply by the fact that it doesn't yet have an individualised name. You don't need to be connected to a device to change its name on WizOS.

Re: WizOz Apple iPad Air 2
Yes both T4s up and running.
I did not realise I could change the ‘description’ name in the set up.
It also needed the two settings which I got from ‘fing’ E.g IP address 10.0.1.9
But all good, many thanks

Re: WizOz Apple iPad Air 2
I'm glad that's worked.
The whole "what's the network name of my Beyonwiz" area is a mess.

Re: WizOz Apple iPad Air 2
As an observation both T4s have miniDLNA activated.
On “fing” the miniDLNA Servers have one number e.g 10.0.1.9
And the beyonwiz another e.g 10.1.1.14
It was the miniDLNA Server numbers which worked.
Now it may have just been accidental but it is all working.
