looking for a T4, working preferably.
Hello,
I am looking for a T4 as a spare for my happily working T4.
I am new to forums and hope any replies will notify me.
I am not expecting it for free if available.
Thank you in advance.
On another note, is there any software update later than V19.3?
Cheers,
Robert_M

Re: looking for a T4, working preferable
"19.3" is a non-specific firmware reference - "19.3" is a firmware series, the current General/Production Release 20191106 version and also the latest beta (release candidate) 20211010 version are both from that series (as is every other beta from 20190630 onwards).

Re: looking for a T4, working preferable
Thanks for the quick reply.
I installed release 19.3 20191106 in April last year and it's been fine.
Was wondering if there is later and what the advantages of going to beta release 20211010 might be
Cheers,
Robert.

Re: looking for a T4, working preferable
There have been lots of fixes and improvements included in the beta release. viewtopic.php?f=56&t=14909
Highly recommended as an update.

Hello
and thanks for that, but is there a list of what the improvements are, please?
These would be after the 20191106 release that I refer to.
Cheers, Robert.

No.
There are hundreds of under the hood changes in both the core PVR functions, and the supporting software and drivers. There is nothing overly drastic, but rather an accumulation of incremental improvements in appearance, networking and general reliability.

At this stage I'd happily give you mine except that it's stuck on "Booting ..." and is functionally dead. Wish I could purchase another one to directly replace it as it has been a fantastic model to use, but that's just not possible.
On the other hand, there's a spare remote control if you want it.

Have you tried flashing the firmware via USB?

Grumpy_Geoff I owe you a debt of gratitude. I have also realised this was previously a fix (long time ago) for the machine borking on me. Dunno why it manages to drop the firmware image from time to time.
I've re-flashed the firmware and it's working like a beauty. I am so pleased as I was literally about to order a replacement machine out of what stock is left at Beyonwiz, in addition to being a bit philosophical about it all.
Many thanks.

Yes, I also re-flashed myself after seeing the comments on this forum. And everything started working much better! Yes the T4's seem to be generally very stable boxes, you don't hear too often about outright failure that refreshing of the software cannot fix.
For me, who is still trying to obtain another T4, this doesn't bode well, lol.
On the flip side, if there is a T4 remote becoming available, I'd be pleased to talk further about it.

Re: looking for a T4, working preferably.
Really? Try searching for "t4 regulator" on the forum
However, despite that, I still think they're the overall best Beyonwiz PVR, though the V2 is the best for UI speed and higher resolution, but it has other inconveniences.
Why would you want another one of those shoeboxes? The V2 remote is available new from Beyonwiz, it will work just fine with the T4, and I think it's a much better remote. They also have T3 remotes in stock which also work with the T4, and I think they're the second-best Beyonwiz remote, after the V2 remote.

Nine months later and another firmware re-flash has me up and going again. I think I'm getting better at this.
