Failed Timer - no matching service - Seven-QLD

Post by mac37 » Wed Dec 09, 2015 08:49

I posted the following on the IceTV forum recently.

**************************************
I am on the Sunshine Coast - Regional QLD. Newly purchased T2.
Trying to schedule a program on Seven-QLD which is the Sunshine Coast's version of Channel 7 and is on LCN 6.
My other 2 PVRs - Topfield and Humax both schedule OK. But with the Beyonwiz T2, I get a nice little email telling me the timer has failed with "No matching service". with the entry in the email repeated NINETEEN times !!
I have gathered that there is a separate server for the beyonwiz "T" series. All other channels schedule OK.
So my request is - could the Seven-Qld channel be named the same as on the server for the other PVRs.

We also receive Brisbane Channels here, so I can work around this by setting Seven Bris to LCN 6 - or even recording on Seven Bris (Channel 7), BUT.......
************************************

Until I got the T2, the situation with the sevens in account settings, was
Seven Brisbane = LCN 7
Seven QLD = LCN 6

Scheduling programs for Seven-Brisbane has always set them to record on channel 7 and still does, even for the T2.
Scheduling programs for Seven-QLD has always set them to record on channel 6 and still does BUT NOT for the T2.
I get the email with the nineteen(!) failed timer notifications, which specifies "no matching service".

Is there some channel naming convention on the "T" series, that will enable scheduling for Sunshine Coast Seven ( known as Seven-QLD to IceTV)??
Dave (IceTV) mentioned that the LCN setting was ignored on the "T" series, and that it used some other method to set the channel.
I have found that setting the "Seven-Brisbane" LCN, in account settings, to 6, actually sets the scheduled program to record on channel 6, NOT 7.

Thanks,

IceTV on the T series matches the channel using the triplet: Service ID (SID), Transport Service ID (TSID) and Originating Network ID (ONID). I assume that's what Dave at IceTV was referring to. The channel matching doesn't use channel names or LCNs.

If your T series box is sent a timer whose triple(s) don't match any services in your bouquet files, the timer isn't set and the box send an error back to IceTV with the "No matching service" error.

Some possibilities are:
  1. The T2 doesn't have the Seven-Qld service in its scanned bouquets.
  2. You've set the LCN incorrectly in the IceTV setup for the service (though it seems OK on the other devices)
  3. IceTV has the incorrect (SID, TSID, ONID) triple for the channel.
When you say that you got an email with 19 "No matching service" errors, do you mean that there were 19 errors for the same episode of the same program or for 19 different programs/episode, or something else.

Thanks for all that info Peter, very useful, I'll have a closer look at the bouquets etc., and see if I can spot anything.

The email for the failed timer notification referred to ONE attempted schedule of ONE program.
The notification was repeated NINETEEN times in the ONE (long) email.

Incidentally, if I set SEVEN-BRISBANE to LCN 6 (instead of the normal 7) in my account settings - and then set a program to record on SEVEN-BRISBANE - this is what happens:-

Topfield Shows as Seven-Bris in "My Week" on the PC - and shows scheduled for channel 6 on Topfield and records on channel 6.
"T2" also shows as Seven-Bris in "My week" on PC - shows scheduled for Sun Coast Seven on T2 and records on channel 6.
Both show it as Sun Coast 7 in recorded list. So it seems to see the LCN !
If Seven-Brisbane LCN is set normally to 7 in account settings Then everything acts as expected and records on channel 7 (even the T2). All PVRs refer to that as 7 Digital

Thanks again

The 19 errors sounds weird. You should not get more error messages than one per timer per available LCN for a channel in the IceTV MyAccount setup.

Eg, here in Canberra, there are three LCNs I can choose from for Prime Canberra, 6, 61 and 62. If none of them match, I should get at most 3 errors for each attempt to create that timer.

When I look at my data for the Sunshine Coast picons, I have the following channel names, LCNs and servicerefs for the Seven Sunshine Coast "main" channels (i.e. not 7Mate, 7TWO, etc):

Code: Select all

     SID TSID ONID
1:0:1:960:950:1013:EEEE0000:0:0:0: 7digital # 7 Sun Coast LCN 6
1:0:1:961:950:1013:EEEE0000:0:0:0: 7digital # 7 Digital 1 LCN 61
1:0:1:964:950:1013:EEEE0000:0:0:0: 7digital # 7 Sun Coast LCN 65
Are those the right names on your T2 for those LCNs?

Because the T series is on a different server from your Topfield and Humax, it's certainly possible that the server is sending the wrong triples for those LCNs.

If you can confirm that I have the right names for the LCNs, I'll post the serviceref data in your topic on the IceTV forum and ask that they check the triples that they have for those LCNs in their Sunshine Coast mappings.

Thank you for your help in this.

The three channels relating to channel 7 on the sunshine coast are

7 Sun Coast LCN 6
7 Sun Coast LCN 60
7 Digital 1 LCN 61

This is the same for Topfield, Humax and the Beyonwiz T2, as shown in their respective EPG lists. All scanned from Channel 48.
LCN 65 does not exist.

The equivalent for Brisbane are 7, 70 and 71

IceTV, in their TV Guide, call them Seven-QLD and Seven-Bris.

Thanks

Grumble, grumble. The source I used for the LCNs was from 2013, and seems not to match reality.

Are you able to copy /etc/enigma2/lcndb off your T2 using FTP (or scp, or even using the File Commander and a USB stick) and attach it to a post here?

You may have to rename it to lcndb.txt to persuade the attachment uploader to let you attach it.

I'm down in Sydney overnight, so I probably won't respond until tomorrow evening or Saturday.

I am having no luck at all with uploading an attachment. I've tried it as "no extension" , txt, even doc.
I get an error
Sucuri WebSite Firewall - CloudProxy - Access Denied
with the following

Block ID: EXPVP5
Block reason: Not identified.
Time: Thu, 10 Dec 2015 09:31:08 -0500

Anyway i have the lcndb file on my PC and will embed the Sun Coast entries here with Asterisks denoting the "main" 7 LCNs.
Named as specified previously:-
7 Sun Coast LCN 6
7 Sun Coast LCN 60
7 Digital 1 LCN 61

Hi peter,
I have employed the same process as advised by you for the channel picons.
I am now allowed to add the attachment you originally asked for !!?!!

It still contains the asterisks for the appropriate channels for main 7 (channel 6, 60, 61).

Hope that it is OK.

Thanks

Oh great, I just scanned my other Wiz, and see a channel called "new channel"... I though it was a Wiz bug, but look at what Seven has done:

Another lousy bandwidth hogging channel look how many Seven are broadcasting..

Hi Tony,

"New Channel" on LCN-76 is also available in Melbourne.

Your post reminds me to chase up a reliable source of this information for Prl.

Regards,
Ian.
