icetv and U4, missing recordings in series, why??

over the last 2 weeks i have been getting missed recordings for series that never used to occur.
i reckon it was about the time i updated the U4 to the latest firmware.
is there any issues with latest firmware??
i have deleted all recordings on the U4, written a list of channels the U4 has scanned and set them up in the guide in icetv and still missing recordings. a series of 5 days a week im getting around 3-4 recording of etc..
what am i doing wrong? how to fix?? i just cannot seem to work out what is wrong here.
im in Cairns regional QLD.

What do you mean by "missing recordings"?

Are recordings being sent from IceTV, showing up on the EPG, bit not being recorded?
If so, do the recording logs show any useful information?

Or

Are recordings set up on IceTV not arriving on the EPG?
If so, did it affect all recordings, some recordings, only on some channels?

Have you checked in your other bouquets to see if the recordings are showing up there and not in your favourites?

I use the "latest firmware" (20211010) on both U4s and haven't had any problems with IceTV. I have over 100 timers and have not had any missed recordings for ages.

I assume you restored settings to keep the old IceTV login, which should work ok. The first thing to check in IceTV is that all channels are set to ALL. After that, check the series recordings are highlighting in the EPG for at least 5 days.

I have had issues in the past with missed recordings due to a tuner not operating, esp the USB tuner. If you have three tuners simply manually record on NETWORK 7, 9 and 10 at the same time. With four tuners also record network ABC. This will force all tuners to be active at once. If any recordings fail the info bar will show the tuners that are working. Only needs to be a brief recording.

As suggested, also check the IceTV logs. Let us know what you discover.

i have been getting failed timer due to no matching service yet it records sometimes on same service same program

I used to do that too but had problems with recordings not showing in the favourites bouquet. I recommend you change the active channels to ALL if only to eliminate it as a potential cause.

Can you give a concrete example of a show/channel that sometimes has problems with the recording?

7 local news cairns, setup to record all new airings every day any channel. it has only set itself to record wednesday, thursday and friday. i have had ot set it manually to record monday an tuesday.

Have you tried setting 7 HD - QLD to All, instead of only channel 70 (i.e. the same sort of setup that you use for 7 - QLD)?

I can't see how that would only fail on particular days, though. This may be something that you need to talk to IceTV about. They can look at the server logs and perhaps get a better idea of what's going on.

yes all set to all every channel that is in my area.
