Strange error message from IceTV
Strange error message from IceTV
Hi. I did the firmware upgrade to my T4 today. Went through the setup and configuration as the instructions said. Resetup IceTV and this evening I get an error message from IceTV:
Show Name: Rizzoli And Isles
Channel: SC 9Gem
Time: 2016-12-25 22:00:00
Duration: 60
Device Label: Beyonwiz T4
Device Type: Beyonwiz T4
Message from recorder: Timer conflict: 'Rizzoli And Isles', 'Major Crimes'
Last Updated: 2016-12-24 16:04:15
'Rizzoli And Isles', and 'Major Crimes' are the only 2 programs scheduled to record tomorrow. Seems very strange that the T4 would think there is a timer conflict with 4 tuners available and only 2 programs on the same channel scheduled.
Any ideas

Re: Strange error message from IceTV
Is the T4 accepting any timers from IceTV since your upgrade?
What happens if you use the T4 to (manually) set those two programs to record - do the timers then turn into 'Wiz timers' after a few seconds?
Is the system date/time right?

Date and Time are correct. I do have other timers listed, so they are getting to the T4 from IceTV.

Re: Strange error message from IceTV
Not sure I can help you with that, it looks a bit mysterious. Are you able to create any Ice timers for 9Gem at all? Perhaps it is limited to timers on that service?
Also, you should probably send in a Cairns tuner scan to prl so that you can get the channel logos appearing in the T4 GUI and in the OpenWebIf.
Instructions are here.

Re: Strange error message from IceTV
I just created a timer for "Vacation Vacation Vacation" from the IceTV site and it showed up on the T4. Then I tried creating a timer for the following program on 9GEM and I got the conflict e-mail from IceTV again.MrQuade wrote:Not sure I can help you with that, it looks a bit mysterious. Re: Strange error message from IceTV
OK. It seems to be limited to timers on 9GEM. I just tried setting timers on ABC for 2 programs "Compass" and "Songs of Praise" and the timers succeeded with no error messages.
So some type of glitch because of the Beta?

Re: Strange error message from IceTV
I wouldn't think so. It might be sme kind of mismatch between the service information that IceTC has on record for 9Gem Cairns and the service information that your Beyonwiz has fetched from the OTA signals.gibster wrote: So some type of glitch because of the Beta?
prl (or someone else) may be able to shed some light on that now that he has your scan data.
So how does the error manifest with 9Gem? If you set a single non-overlapping timer from the IceTV website on 9Gem, does it throw back a timer conflict error?

Re: Strange error message from IceTV
I don't think its an Ice issue though as the earlier screenshot shows the conflict is raised when the timer is set from within OWIF, right?MrQuade wrote:I wouldn't think so. That'd make sense. I didn't spot the event popup behind the conflict message.Grumpy_Geoff wrote: I don't think its an Ice issue though as the earlier screenshot shows the conflict is raised when the timer is set from within OWIF, right?
I definitely don't understand what is happening there then. It must have really got itself tied up in knots.
Setting overlapping timers on another Nine service like "Go!" is ok then?
Have you tried rebooting as a "try anything non-solution" yet?

Just tried setting concurrent timers on Nine Cairns and get the same timer conflict message as before when trying to set them from OWIF.MrQuade wrote:That'd make sense. Rebooted several times and this hasn't made any difference.
Might have to give a fresh USB install/config and see if that will solve this issue.

Re: Strange error message from IceTV
Perhaps try a manual tuner rescan. Might be corrupted service data? Something easier to try before a full wipe.gibster wrote: Might have to give a fresh USB install/config and see if that will solve this issue.
MENU->Setup->Tuners->Manual scan
"Type of scan" = Complete
"Clear before scan" = enabled
If you do to a USB reinstall, make sure you test the timers before restoring your previous settings backup.

OK, Fresh install without using restore (I never do anyway).
Everything seems to be OK now, timers that had failed before are now showing up on the timers list with no issues.
I did notice after the fresh install/setup during the online update, the update reported that ntpdate had failed and to try updating it using USB.
Merry Christmas and thanks for all your help gentlemen.
