U4 Display

Post by mailmrmoot » Sat Mar 23, 2019 18:45

Hi. I’ve recently bought a U4 and once I had set it up I realised the display is not horizontal? Is this something I can fix or do I need to return it? Please see image attached.

On a related note the red record icon is permanently rotating too? Is this normal? This also is shown in the image attached.

If the display is not horizontal then it may have come adrift from the front panel. It's held on with adhesive normally.

The spinning disk means that the harddisk is operating, which it will most of the time since the U4 timeshifts in normal operation.

I thought that was only the case with T4 OLED screens.

Either way, seems like a hardware / manufacturing fault or damage sustained in transport. If you are inclined to fiddle with hardware and are competent enough to not cause more damage, you might as well take a look inside and see what happened. Otherwise get in touch with Beyonwiz so that they can repair it for you.
