Timeshift on Live Timer Recording

Post by Mork » Mon Nov 12, 2018 16:51

I have just swapped out my trusty and overall awesome DP-S1 for a new U4. And am still learning the new UI.

In the DP Series, if an timer recording was active, and you were tuned to the same station in LiveTV, the timeshift function would be able to take you back to the start of the recording with the back buttons if desired. (i.e. you did not have to open the recording to do that).

In the U4, it seems that if you turn on the Wiz when it is recording and tune to the same channel (Live TV) that is being recorded, timeshift is active from the turn on time, not the recording start time.

I know I can open the media and select the active recording and do the same, but it seems like a loss of a very useful feature

Is there a setting to enable LiveTV timeshift to use an active recording?

If not a very good feature to add (back in)
Back to the Forum with a new V2. (RIP my ever trusty DP-S1 and DP-Lite) :D

No.

There's no "back in". The T and U series firmware is unrelated to the firmware that ran in the DP series. I don't think it would be particularly easy to fulfill the request.

In what way is the question hardware-related?

Bummer , that was a great feature of the DP Hardware, and very intuitive.

I mean "back in" from a "Beyonwiz" feature perspective. (yes I am very aware the hardware is different)

But in what way is the question hardware-related? Would it not be better off in General Topics T2 / T3 / T4 / U4?

Hardware, firmware, recording file format, everything is different. Even the firmware philosophy is different - open-source vs proprietary. :)
