DNLA location access anomaly

Post by Altimes » Sun Sep 30, 2018 17:09

I recently used the T4 to access a Win 10 media streaming. Worked as expected with a small exception that duplicated folders are not accessed as expected. Through simplicity I had created three folders named T4Recordings on seperate physical drives. These had been added to the win10 video library. They are successfully indexed and delivered. Using VLC they show up and can be discretely accessed (all be it, guessing which is which :? ). Using T4 “location” to access the same DNLA server all looked good to start with in that the three duplicated folders showed up. However, no matter which of the duplicates you select, it accesses the first one.

No big deal, renaming the folders solves the issue. Just something to be aware of when accessing a DNLA server.

This can never work, because the DLNA fuse file system represents each exported DLNA directory as a sub-directory in the file system. Having three sub-directories with the same name in a directory will not work. You must use unique names.
