T4 no longers recognises certain video files?

Post by NoDeity » Tue Feb 09, 2016 15:35

Just recently I've noticed that some of my movie files are no longer being seen by my Wiz's, files that were visible last year aren't now. I'm not up on what MKV's, AVI's or MP4's can store within their containers, but something has changed here. Is it just me or has there been a change in what the T4/3 can recognise?

This question would be better posted in the General forum rather than the firmware images one unless you can pinpoint a version that suddenly changed behaviour. Perhaps a mod can move it later.

In any case, to my knowledge there has been no change in that regard.

Where do you store these other files? On a NAS/server, or are they on the Wiz's internal HDD (or an attached USB/eSATA storage device)?

If stored locally, are you using the media player, and not the file manager to play them?

If stored on the network/NAS/server, do you recall changing permissions at some point? If on the network, then can you copy some sample files that aren't showing up and put them on a USB device and try playing them straight from there.

As MrQuade says most likely a change in settings at your end as there is nothing changed in the firmware that should create this changes AFAIK.

And moved to Content, Formats & Media Playback.
