Fallback remote receiver record
Fallback remote receiver record
I have my T3 setup to use a second T3 as a fallback remote receiver, which works well. Unexpectedly, when all local tuners are in use the remote receiver is always used even when viewing a network that is being recorded on a local tuner.
That quirk aside, should you be able to record using the fallback remote receiver, or is it for viewing only? If you try to record you get a conflict message.

Re: Fallback remote receiver record
At the moment, I have found that you can't. I don't think it is a feature that has been thoroughly integrated yet.
I know one of the limitations of the standby tuner is that the T3 has no way of knowing if the standby tuner will have free tuners of its own or not, so it has no way of definitively knowing if there will be conflicts or not. Also, if the standby tuner is not available for whatever reason, I am not sure how the timers would cope.
That being said, it might be nice if the T3 allowed for that standby tuner to be scheduled for recordings, but perhaps flagged with a warning of some sort.
