FTA EPG regular update

Post by grampus » Sat Oct 11, 2014 08:43

I believe this topic has been canvassed a number of times on other devices.

Using the FTA EPG, I think that it only populates/repopulates the EPG a for the channel that you are viewing/recording.
Has there been any discussion re some form of automatically rotating through the channels on a free tuner at a regular basis to allow any changes to be seen?

Or can someone share a simple method of doing this?

There is already a plugin called epgrefresh that does this job.

As long as you set it up to do a fake recording on each provider for about 5 minutes per day, and configure it to *not* trigger the autotimer refresh when it is done, it usually has no problems.

It is known to be a little bit buggy if not set up just right. It works a treat for me though!
