Is it possible to make the front display text larger? I want to be able to use the clock at night & it's hard to focus on the time.

No, it is a fixed size display and I think the text is using up all of the vertical pixels available to it anyway.
You can make it brighter though, assuming you don't already have it set to max brightness.
