V2 Remote Control dead

Post by Sandy B » Fri Jan 19, 2024 13:48

My brothers grandchild tried to see if his V2 remote control could swim, consequently rendering it useable. We have tried to take it apart and cleaning but it have not come back from the dead. Does anybody know where a replacement remote could be found/purchased. I have considered even purchasing a second hand V2 if it came with a working remote, or a programmable universal remote if one exists.

Any tips would be gratefully appreciated.

Sorry cannot help. I was temporarily in the same position earlier in the week - misplaced the V2 RCU. The U4 RCU works for the V2.

As a temporary measure, there are some things you can do using Openwebif.

There is a European PVR which looks identical to the V2, and its RCU may work.

We have about 6, 2 in regular use & 1 in our caravan. Bought 2 new ones as spares when I read that Logitech were no longer selling them. I reco'ed 4 a couple of months ago, only needed a clean with solvent, so hopefully they'll last for a few years. It's possible to buy repair kits, but If they do require replacement, I'll try a Sofabaton.

Happy to say that someone with more experience than me was able to get the 650 working, both brother and grandchild now happy again.

Many thanks to all regarding advice given
