Will a 2TB USB stick in a use in V2 pvr?

Post by The Old Man » Tue Jul 25, 2023 15:55

I was given a gift from a friend for trying to help him out. He told me that it's a 2TB usb3 stick that is formatted exFat.

Plugging it into a PC conforms this. I was also told that I should only try to use it with a exFAT partition.

Can by V2 B/W work with this format or not because I had thought about using it in my PVR? If it can't would it be OK to create multiple partitions on this USB stick use whatever format the V2 accepts?

It should work, although if you don't need to access it from Windows, formatting it in the V2 would probably be better.

Are you sure it is 2TB, not 2GB?

A 2TB USB drive in a stick form factor would be either an external SSD (expensive) or a normal USB stick with fake capacity (usually at a price too good to be true, although some scammers will sell fake drives at same prices as genuine articles).

Before you put any data on that drive, test it with something like f3 (my favourite) or CapacityTester.
