U4 Not Starting
U4 Not Starting
Hi all,
I have just moved house and am setting up my U4. I just plugged it in and turned it on and the front screen is stuck on "Loading...".
It has been sitting like this for at least an hour. Was working perfectly at my previous house.
Can you please assist?

Re: U4 Not Starting
Simple steps first.
Switch it off for 30 seconds using the switch on the back, and then switch it back on again.
Do you see anything on the TV screen at all?
Checked correct inputs and everything?
If you can see the Beyonwiz splash screen, and the reboot hasn't worked, then you can try re-loading firmware from USB.

Re: U4 Not Starting
Thanks Mr Quade.
Turning it off/on worked. I thought it would but just wanted to be sure.

Re: U4 Not Starting
Another possibility is that the file system on the HDD has been damaged and the U4 is doing a disk check which, depnding on the size of the HDD can take many hours. I had this happen with one of my T2s. My solution was to take the HDD out of the T2, attach it to my PC, copy off any recording I wanted, then deleted all partitions on the HDD. Put it back in the T2 and when asked, answered yes to format the drive. [I established that there was a file system problem before deleting the partitions.]
