T4 remote not working - STB

My T4 remote does not work properly

the Top 3 button are left to right, TV then the Power Symbol then the STB.

I have a installed hardrive, so we normally have the STB button selected and just press the power button.

currently only half the time when you press the power button does just the STB button light up red (this is what normally happens over the life of the unit), the other half of the time, you press the power button and both TV and STB buttons light up which mean the unit does not turn on.

What is happening? Id rather fix the existing remote.

The T4 remote can do weird things when its batteries are low (and its button backlighting tends to chew through batteries quickly). Have you tried fresh batteries?

Yes, that remote is different from the T4 remote. It's the remote that was packaged with the T3. It will work just fine with the T4.

i think I really do need a remote now, the T4 remote I have seems more comprehensive than the T3 one we have mentioned?

Or is this the only option?

I have downloaded the GB Player App on my iphone for now and seems to work well. All I had to do was find its IP address using another APP that does a LAN scan, and enter into into the GB player settings.

The original T4 remote and the T3 remote you linked to have the same set of buttons, as far as I can see (comparing the remotes side-by-side).

The T3 remote has a different button layout and doesn't have backlighting, but I've always thought that the T4's backlighting was a bit pointless - it doesn't come on until after a button has been pressed.

The T3 remote is smaller and less shoe-boxy that the T4 remote. Both use 2xAAA batteries.
