CEC volume forwarding to a Yamaha AVR

Post by peteru » Wed Oct 16, 2019 02:03

Does anyone have a working CEC configuration that forwards the Beyonwiz volume keys to an AVR?

I had a very quick attempt at making it work with a Yamaha RXV-673, but it didn't. The Yamaha user guide is a bit weird and says you need to power cycle a number of devices in a very specific order, which I didn't do due to lack of time. Just wondering if it's working for anyone. Does not necessarily have to be a Yamaha.

CEC is a finicky beeeeeeyach and you often do need to follow those power sequence guidelines to get it working remotely. Once it's working you'd better not breathe funny least you upset the HDMI gods.

Sorry though, I can't offer any actual practical experience to help.

As long as I'm using the Yamaha amp remote it will switch over to the BW V2 and turn on the TV, likewise if I close down the BW the TV and Yamaha follow..
