U4 - Updating from 17.5 to 19.3
U4 - Updating from 17.5 to 19.3
So I've just done the update (restored settings), and now I've lost Root access in windows... grrrrrrrrrrrr.
In win explorer, I see Logs & Movies.
Using File Commander on the U4 I see there is a new smb-user.conf in etc/samba -
I'm a bit lost as to what to do with the old code of allowing root access?
[Root]
comment = /root
path = /
guest ok = yes
read only = no
Help.

Yep, you need to edit the Samba user configuration file (/etc/samba/smb-user.conf) and add your share(s) into it (e.g anything you had in the old user configuration file name which previously was smb_user.conf).
'Movie' and 'Logs' shares (on /media/hdd/movie and /home/root/logs respectively) are set as default.

One relatively easy way to do it would be to -
- use File Commander to copy /etc/samba/smb-user.conf (and the old smb_user.conf too if you want its contents) to the 'Movie' share,
- then from that share, edit the contents of smb-user.conf on your computer,
- use File Commander to copy the smb-user.conf file back,
- wait about 30 secs or so and the new contents will be detected and the new share(s) available.

I didn't even think of that...
Anyways, I typed it up using file commander, and all is good again.
