Network Problems

Post by desm » Fri Jul 10, 2015 15:32

I have a DP P1 which was networked by wire in my previous home.

Since relocating I have a network comprising a D link DSL-2544N router and a Netgear N300 Trek router/range extender which are bridged. The P1 is connected to a LAN port on the Trek unit.

The P1 can connect to the internet for Ice Guide but is unable to connect to my PC.

I also have a Samsung Smart TV connected wirelessly and and a Foxtel unit connected through the second LAN Port.

Any suggestions as to why I can't access the Wiz from the PC or vice versa?

Possibly you have both your D-Link and your Netgear issuing different IP subnet addresses via DHCP - your PC is connected to your D-Link modem/router and getting a 192.168.0.n address and your P1 is connected to the Netgear range extender and getting a 192.168.168.n address?

Turn off DHCP in the range extender and assign a reserved IP address for both the PC and the P1 in the modem/router.
