QNAP Write Access from DP-S1

Hi All,

I've been trying to copy to and delete files from my QNAP using my DP-S1. I am using the latest firmware on both.

I have setup a user on the QNAP named Warren with a password and added this to the Windows Sharing area of the DP-S1. I have worked that it is using the Guest account instead of Warren as the only way I can get write access to a particular shared folder is to set the guest access for that folder to FULL.

My question is how do I get the DP-S1 to connect to my QNAP with a user other than Guest? From a windows machine I need to use QNAP\username but I don't have a \ character on the DP-S1. Can I use a different character?
