cannot connect DP-S1 to Linksys WAG120N

Post by Griffyn » Thu Nov 18, 2010 17:40

Hi,

Got a DP-S1 with firmware 1.05.334. It's been working fine for ages, hooked up wirelessly to a LinkSys WRT54 (I think). Then moved it to my gf's place where she has a new LinkSys WAG120N. I can connect to it if I disable all security on the wireless network, but I can't seem to find any combination of security (haven't tried WEP, because AFAIK that protocl is broken) that the Beyonwiz will connect with. Either says Wireless Lan Link Down, or Wireless Link Setup Failure.

Got a laptop and android phone that hook up to the LinkSys just fine (both LinkSys's).

Any clues to get me in the right direction?

Cheers,
Griffyn

The DP-S1 doesn't play nice with WPA on some routers. I'm not sure if that's the problem with your WAG120N, though.

WEP isn't "broken": it works. It's more "hacked". Comprehensively.

Best I've been able to do is use WEP and MAC filtering. Anyone know if there's a fix in the works? The wireless aspect of the DP-S1 has always been in need of an update.
