Post by smcleod80 » Mon Jan 04, 2016 12:18

Hi Guys,
I was just wondering if anyone is using a Wireless AC USB Adaptor? If so which ones have been tried and tested

I currently using the WiFi USB Antenna (Wireless N 300Mbps) T2 – T3 – T4 which i bought with the T4

I would like to upgrade to Wireless AC if the T4 supports this

Any information would be aprreciated

rtl8812au Plugin screen
There is a AC WiFi Dongle that works on the T series however you will need to install the "network-usb-rli8812au" plugin.
Once that plugin is installed then the "EDUP EP-AC1619", available for about $13 on ebay, can be plugged in and configured. (this unit requires rtl8811au (600Mb/s) driver however this is still part of the rtl8812au (1200Mb/s) driver set.
You could purchase the more expensive units with an antenna that require the rtl8812au driver and maybe get faster speed.
The only issue is that by default there is no encryption and you have to page down to the next screen to reveal it.
Connection speed shown up as 434Mb/s and worked on T3 and T4.
Hope this info helps
Regards
Craig

There is absolutely no need to hide the IP addresses or MACs. Or SSIDs or any of that stuff. Hiding that information won't do anything to improve your security.

BTW: Garfield5G SSID - were you part of the Netgear beta team?

I tend to agree but I still prefer not to show these details. No I was not part of Netgear beta.
