Harmony hub - missing EXIT key!

Post by Paul_oz53 » Sat Mar 23, 2019 18:18

ITired of replacing 650's I bought a Harmony hub today. Decided to use the phones as the touch screen device.

Setup was pretty easy in that it found our 650's and asked to copy the setup. All good except an extra I programmed into the Activity "Watch TV" is missing. Not fatal - I think I can work around that.

However, under "Devices" an essential key is missing - EXIT! It's not on any of the 5 screen pages for the T series screen. A glaring omission that makes the screen useless for accessing any menu.

This means you have to press several times to get back to the "Activity" screen where Exit sits on the slider under the main sceen.

Any suggestions on how to fix it? Do I need to contact Logitech?

Thanks,

The exit button should be on the second screen with the arrow buttons.

Make sure you are using activities too, there should be very little reason for you to ever need to use device mode.

The bonus being that you can customise the key layout in activity mode.

Thanks MrQuade, I'll check it out when I get back home. Swans are 32 pts down and not looking like a chance

Happy to say that it was easy to edit the device settings to add the missing commands to control my HDMI switch. Also added "Exitx" as Exit is already taken. I found reprogramming via the app to be a breeze. Far easier than the desktop software.

I tried every button in the devices menu item for the U4 but Exit is not present. The second screen with OK and the four direction arrows also has Back but not Exit. Could be a bug and maybe because the codeset I use is the T3 set.

I take your point MrQuade that it is unlikely that Devices will be used for the watch TV activity. We do use the Foxtel and Bluray as devices on the 650's and the less I have to retrain the other half....
I'm sure you know where I'm going here. WAF is the critical aspect.

Right now, it looks good.

Do you mean that you added the HDMI switch as a device and added it to your activity? Or was the HDMI switch missing some commands as well? You definitely shouldn't be adding the HDMI switch commands into the Wiz's device configuration....the "device" definition should only contain commands for a single device.

It might be because the config was imported from a 650. All my Wizs have the EXIT button on that second screen by default.

No name switch. So I used "learn" to fix the commands for a dummy device.

I think you're right. I deleted the greyed out Page Up symbol and replaced it with Exit.
