Feature request for sort function

The new sort functions work well and give all of the options you would need. But it's too many now (10). I would imagine most people only use a few and which means to swap between two sort modes takes up to 9 key presses.
I'd like to see a feature where the available sort modes could be selected in the same way that ffwd speeds can be selected.
Not urgent but I find myself avoiding changing sort as its too annoying to step through the ones I'll never use to get back to my two preferred ones.
