corrupt auto timer file

Post by REDark » Thu May 11, 2023 15:07

Hi
After using the blue auto timer button I got a 'software error' message telling me I needed to reboot my T3.
Unfortunately I didn't think to copy that message.

After rebooting things seemed fine for a few minutes and then I got this another error message below.

The message disappeared when I pressed the 'exit' button and everything seems fine.

My question is - so far I've only used the green timer button to set recordings.
Is there anything I need to do before I start using the blue button again?

Thanks
Lynne

There shouldn't be, but all your old auto timers will be gone.

It might be possible to reconstruct some of the old autotimers from the saved copy of the corrupted autotimer.xml file, but it may not be worth the effort, and will take some basic knowledge of what the file should look like. It's a text file in XML format, so you don't need any fancy tools to look at it or edit it once it's been copied off the PVR.

But I think that it's likely that in this case that "corrupted" might mean "empty".

You're right - they were all gone.
Thanks for such a prompt reply. It's a great service.
