POTENTIAL BUG: New U4 "Zap mode" does nothing

Post by MrQuade » Tue Jan 16, 2018 23:49

The setting found under FAV->MENU->Configuration...->Zap mode appears to have no effect.
If I change from "Black screen" to "Hold" I would have expected to see a still screen when zapping between services instead of a black screen. The other modes also all seem to just behave the same way.

Am I missing something? Can anyone else confirm?

I can confirm that ‘Save’ doesn’t save the change. But ‘Save’ then rebooting the GUI does.

I didn't notice that. Whenever I saved the setting, the setting did stick when I checked back.

Are you saying that the setting doesn't take effect until the GUI is restarted?

That's odd, because the code writes the new zap mode into /proc/stb/video/zapmode as soon as the change is finalised in the setup screen (either move away from the setup item or save the setup change).

Yes. That was a bad choice of words on my part. The changes are saved in the MENU Config when the ‘Save’ is executed, but it doesn’t change the way the zap works until a GUI restart takes place.

I only tested one option & that is the way it worked on our U4.

Edit: 17.5.20171230 f/w & using double OK press to zap to live TV.
