On the same subject
Device is a T3 with HDD factory installed on purchase.
Sw 20170310 installed from USB

My problem is a crash on opening some media files for viewing.
I.E. Broadchurch from last night. Happens every time.
Also I found I could open another file and play, but when I press stop. Crash again. This one was Vicar of Dibley.
All other operations appear to be OK. Can surf channels, load EPG from Ice. Surf EPG Create a recording.

At one stage, I found that there were no media files in the list.

Ran FSCK from BW menu. No errors noted.

Strangely the files reappeared momentarily.
Tried to run Broadchurch crashed again.

Renstalled 20170310 from USB and restored from backup config.
Checked to see if there were any updates available online. None.

Bit the bullet and initialised the disk.
Started to record from live.
Opened media file that as created, Crash again

Cannot supply crash file as I havent been able to access using Filezilla for some time. previously OK
Using uname root, nul PW .

Able to use WebIF, using same IP address.
Accessed HDD and tried to run the current recording from there, same result.

Just reporting this, don't expect its something that can readily be fixed.
Suspicion is that maybe I have a power supply on the way out.
No real reason for this, but seems to be the first thing that will probably get mentioned.

I am unable to pursue this for the next few weeks, as I will be away from tuesday.

But in the meantime if anyone can show light on access via Filzilla, I would appreciate it.
TIA

Are you using the network name for the T3 (e.g. default beyonwizt3) or a numeric IP address for FTP access? If the latter, your router may have assigned a new IP address to the T3. Have a look in MENU>Information>Network on the T3. The "IP" entry will display the T3's current numeric IP address.

Otherwise, "I haven't been able to access" is a bit lacking in detail. Is there an error message of some sort from Filezilla?

Is the T3's FTP server running? MENU -> Setup -> Network -> FTP

If you're running Windows, you should also be able to get to the crash log via the T3's Samba share - \\beyonwizt3 (or \\192.168.1.2:21)
For the "Root" share use beyonwiz/beyonwiz for the user/password

FWIW
I had the P/S replaced by DPC last October.
I've contacted support, started a dialogue to have another repair done.

As a last resort.
As all else failed.
Did a restore to defaults, reconfigured, and lo 'n behold.
I can now play my stored recordings.

Hasnt resolved the Filzilla FTP issues though.
Still the same error.
FTP config on the box shows that FTP has stopped as per screenshot above.

So now one of the questions I have. What is really meant by stopped?
Does it need to be manually started even though autostart is configured as shown?
Or does it mean that it has stopped due to there being no active connection to the FTP on board app, and would show up as started when there is a connection made?

Did you install the beta firmware and restore your settings from the 4.4 non-beta firmware? This is known to break the FTP server and Samba.

If you install the beta, you must do all your settings from scratch. Restoring settings from default will not be sufficient, you need to install the USB image and start from scratch.

Hmm, let me see.
It's entirely possible that I have done as you say, some time ago.
And it's entirely possible that the FTP server app hasn't responded since.
Nothing that I can accurately say
My last move with the 2017310 was reinstalled from USB. at that time I restored the backup.
If there was a hangover corruption that may be a reason.
Since then, I didn't reinstall, just using the current 2017310 that was there on th box, I went via setup, and went back to default.
That resolved my viewing stored media files

My FTP problem was and is still the same.

I guess, that maybe I should start again from scratch.
Go back to default. Then reinstall the USB version 2017310.
Then reconfigure everything..

Ahh had not much better to do with this afternoon.
Oh tell a lie Grand Prix is on.

And hopefully on my final word for the day.
After redoing the back to default, wait till it starts booting, power down, up, install USB update,
The FTP server is now showing green and running.

Filezilla has access.
