U4 Firmware uograde problems
U4 Firmware uograde problems
I (think) I have upgraded the firmware for U4
Unsure, as the details do not show similarities to data I expected.
However, the results are a disaster.
When scrolling through the EPG lists (upcoming TV programmes to select to record) the U4 seems to run out of memory - when scrolling forward the selection sometimes goes forward, sometimes goes backwards, sometimes changes the selected channel.
Selected programmes to record sometimes revert to being not-selected.
It appears I am unable to scrap this upgrade and revert to the earlier version.

Re: U4 Firmware uograde problems
The firmware version is shown against the "Revision" label in MENU>>Information>>About.
What's shown there?
Did you do an online firmware update or a USB firmware flash?
Perhaps you should perform a USB update. The full USB firmware image of 20211010 can be retrieved from this topic "Current firmware - 19.3_20211010"

Re: U4 Firmware uograde problems
Rolling back isn't the best option here. These symptoms sound unique to you, so something sounds like it has gone wrong with your update.
The best bet is to re-apply the update using the USB method as Grumpy Geoff mentioned. A USB installation is essentially a fresh start from a known and proven working copy, so if anything goes wrong after a successful USB installation, then it means either your U4 is faulty, or, if you restored your old settings, then there was something wrong with those.

Re: U4 Firmware uograde problems
Thank you for your response. I have only done USB upgrades in this circumstance, however I an mow unsure of what version is installed.
I used to be able to find the Firmware version, but cannot. Can you give me instruction on where in the Menu Set-up I should look?
I am seeing Release 19.3, Build 2021 1010.
Is this what I need?
cheers
