Firmware beyonwiz T2 20190712
I recently updated a friends T2 to 20190712 and yesterday he told me he had a message that new update was available and preferably done by USB. I visited this morning to check and it is 20190718. Should I update to this for him or is it substantially the same as 20190712. He only uses the machine to record a few off air programs.

I would though it doesn't need to be done by USB in my experience.netmask wrote: ↑Mon Sep 09, 2019 14:40I recently updated a friends T2 to 20190712 and yesterday he told me he had a message that new update was available and preferably done by USB. If it's suggesting a USB upgrade, it's because there are more than 198 packages in the update. So it's a large update. How significant it is is difficult to tell just from that.
You can ask it to show a list of packages in the update, but that's often not very informative for large updates.
If your friend decides not to update, you may want to disable automatic checks for updates (MENU>Setup>Software manager>Configure update check) until he dose want to update, otherwise it will keep bugging him to do the update.

Thanks - I'll probably be over his way in a few weeks so I will do it for him then. I think I may disable automatic update reminders...
