So is it definitely the Beyonwiz, or could it be either the Beyonwiz or the router?
You need to be clearer about just what you mean by a "static IP address". This can be interpreted as two different things:
- The Beyonwiz uses DHCP to get its network address, but the router has been set to maintain a fixed mapping from the Beyonwiz's MAC (Ethernet) address to its IP address. In this case the IP address should be inside the range of IP addresses managed by the DHCP server in the router. Or
- You manually set the IP address of the Beyonwiz in MENU>Setup>Network>Network interface, and do nothing on the router. In this case the IP address should be outside the range of IP addresses managed by the DHCP server in the router.
I use the first method, and it works just fine in the new firmware for my Beyonwizes (Fritz!Box 7390 router).

Ok, so the way I have always done it is set my DHCP range in the router from x.x.x.20 to x.x.x.190 and then
in each individual device set a static address outside of the DHCP range of x,x,x,200, .201, .202 etc for my AV gear and it has always worked that way.
At the moment I have a static address set in the Beyonwiz of 192.168.10.202. For some reason even though it is set, the router (Billion 8800AXL) is assigning a DHCP address to it. I cannot access the box via the static address, but can via the assigned DHCP address even though when I view the device info via webif it shows the static one.
I have just set a static address map to the mac address in the router of 192.168.10.202, but from what I think you have just said, that address "needs" to be within the DHCP scope? I've never used that feature before, would you normally leave the T4 as dhcp in that case and the router will always give it the corect address within the dhcp scope?
EDIT: I've just extended the DHCP scope of the router to x.x.x.240 and set the T4 as DHCP. It picked up the .202 address, so will see how it goes. But I've never had issues setting up static addresses before, including the T4 prior to the latest upgrade.
