Ripped dvd folderplayback

Post by Burnsy » Thu May 31, 2018 17:52

Is there a plugin or any way to playback ripped dvds on an external drive? I'm using a T4 and the files are in a folder with multiple vob files and an ifo file etc. I downloaded the dvd player function but it doesn't appear anywhere. I'll assume it works with a drive lugged in?

The normal media player should immediately attempt to launch the built-in DVD player interface as soon as you select the DVD rip folder. It detects that there are DVD VOB files in there and should launch into the DVD's menu screen.
This should work without any plugins installed, though it may depend on how your particular DVD was ripped.
If you don't care about the special features, you may want to consider simply ripping the DVDs to MKVs instead of leaving them in the problematic "native" format.
