FileZilla Not Connecting

Post by tezza007 » Thu Oct 29, 2015 17:37

For some reason I now can't get Filezilla to connect to my T4. OpenWebif is connecting fine

Status: Disconnected from server
Status: Connecting to 192.168.0.5:21...
Status: Connection established, waiting for welcome message...
Status: Insecure server, it does not support FTP over TLS.
Command: USER root
Response: 331 Please specify the password.
Command: PASS
Response: 500 OOPS: cannot change directory:/home/root
Error: Critical error: Could not connect to server

Any advice?

Filezilla 3.10.2 (it's old, it offered to update when I tried it) connected without any problem for me:

Code: Select all

Status: Resolving address of ataxerxes
Status: Connecting to 192.168.178.24:21...
Status: Connection established, waiting for welcome message...
Status: Insecure server, it does not support FTP over TLS.
Status: Connected
Status: Retrieving directory listing...
Status: Directory listing of "/" successful
I just entered the hostname ataxerxes in Host, "root" in User and clicked on Quickconnect. Left Password and Port empty. All in the Quickconnect bar.

If I entered rubbish in Password, it still connected.

Added: I upgraded to 3.14.1. Still works.

I'm on v3.14.1
Never had a problem before today

Tried FileZillas "Firewall and router configuration wizard" No idea if it's got anything to do with it. It returned this:

Connecting to probe.filezilla-project.org
Response: 220 FZ router and firewall tester ready
USER FileZilla
Response: 331 Give any password.
PASS 3.14.1
Response: 230 logged on.
Checking for correct external IP address
IP 192.168.0.3 bjc-bgi-a-d
Response: 510 Mismatch. Your IP is 58.110.174.158, fi-bba-bhe-bfi
Wrong external IP address
Connection closed

Hi,

You could have left some ports open for me at least. :D

If you use Firefox, there an FTP plugin called FireFTP, that's what I use now, instead of FileZilla.

I do remember having the same problem, I did fix it, but can't recall the cause: probably "The Wizard".

I've found I have to use a "rubbish" PW, otherwise it asks every time.
