I have always had problems with seeing the T3 in Windows explorer using Samba in both Windows 7 and 10. It would appear and disappear for no apparent reason. I could still see the T3 with Open Webif and FileZilla and my mountpoints all worked.
It disappeared over the weekend so I finally had a look at the attached log file and googled the following line
Unable to open printcap file /etc/printcap for read!
Seems its something to do with printers. After some more googling I added the following 2 lines to smb.conf
printcap name = /dev/null
printing = bsd
Rebooted the T3 and the network shares appeared straight away in Windows Explorer and are still there this morning. Might be just a coincidence or just good luck. I am not a programmer so I don't understand what I've done but you guys might.
I have an Epson printer connected wirelessly which is usually turned off.
